Biography

Russian singer Olga Varvus was born on April 17 in Tiraspol. Her family had moved from severe Siberia, town of Kemerovo, to sunny Moldavia, and her grandfather was a native Muscovite. Though Olga doesm't have Moldavian roots, this multinational country has given her this sunny character, unique voice timbre and virtuoso manner of performance. Currently Olga Varvus lives and works in Moscow.

 

At the tender age of five Olga had her first solo performance dedicated to the Victory Day, she receives her first applause and words of gratitude from veterans.

At 13 she was invited to take part in children's pop ensemble at Tchaikovskiy Music School. Touring with this team along the Black Sea Coast helped the beginner artist gain experience in stage performing, dancing and communicating with audience.

She mastered the piano at music school, graduated with honors and attended Rubinstein's Music College at "Music Pop Art" Department.

Thanks to talented tutors she was introduced to jazz music and acquired valuable experience working with pop orchestra as a vocalist, a pianist and a director.

At 17 Olga Varvus and Republican Synphonic Orchestra had successfully performed Mozart's Concerto №20 together.

Since 2001 young artist started to take part in Republican and international pop singer contests. In 2001 she receives first Grand Prix in Republican contest "Voices of Transdniestria":

1st place in All-Russian contest "Slavic Star" (Oryol city):

In 2002 she shared 1st prize with Alexander Panayotov in international contest "Golden Smash-hit" in Republic of Belarus.

In 2004 Olga Varvus received 1st prize in international festival "Sea of Friends" in Yalta. She used her money prize ($5000) to record her first album.

In 2005 Olga Varvus has become a participant of popular TV festival "Slavic Bazaar" in Vitebsk. Millioms of viewers all arounf the world were watching this musical event. It had participants from 20 different countries! Olga got acquainted with many popular singers and movie stars there. Those were Mikhail Boyarskiy, Lyudmila Gurchenko, Joseph Kobzon, Pesnyary band, Alla Pugachyova, nadezhda Babkina, zemlyane band, Tsvety band, Valeriya, Vitas, Taisiya Povaliy, Ani Lorak and many others.

2006

Olga Varvus acquired Grand Prix in international pop song contest "Faces of Friends" in Moldova. She brilliantly performed one of the most beautiful and vocally difficult Whitney Houston's songs - "I Have Nothing".

  

In 2007 Olga Varvus has moved to Moscow. She began to write new songs, quite successfully. Her own song, "King of Seduction", has passed a huge casting and got into Russian qualifying round of Eurovision 2008. Olga was to compete with superprofessionals of Russian show business for the right to represent Russia on international level. Some recognized stars were among the participants, such as Dima Bilan, Sergey Lazarev, Premier-Minister band, Assorti band, Yulia Mikhalchik and others.

Olga's professional and bright performance at RTR channel live stream was noticed, and people began to invite her to collective concerts, presentations and ceremonial events. 

In 2009, Olga was invited to tour in China. Her unique voice timbre and high performing skill have conquered the audience of Hongkong, Guangzhou and Beijing.

In 2010 Olga has become a soloist of Ensemble of Border Troops of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

It is a huge artistic team that consists of pop-symphonic orchestra, ballet, choir and vrass band. 

Olga Varvus constantly improves her artistic abilities, tries herself on new vocal and choreographic genres.

Her love towards romance brought her 1st prize in prestigious international contest of romance performers called "Romanciada-2013". It was three days long, and more than 100 performers from all over the world took part in it. 

Since 2016 Olga Varvus takes part in every episode of "Romantic Romance" TV-show held by Kultura channel.

Currently, Olga serves as Ambassador of "Russian World" Fund held by Vyacheslav Nikonov. She actively does social work, tours around the world, collaborates with the best orchestras and music bands.  

Alongside with recording new album "Russia the Hospitable" ("Rus Hlebosolnaya"), she does spectacular shows, charity works and educational programs.
